The maintenance of your laser marking machine is essential for the longevity of your machine. There are a few things that need to be cleaned daily to ensure that your fibre laser marking machine is performing well. Read below for information on the necessary daily maintenance for your laser marking machine:

Fan

The fan in the fibre marking machine is a part of the cooling system. If the fan fails, the machine may overheat which could cause serious damage. It is important to regularly remove the fan and clean all the dust and dirt that has collected. This maintenance task should be done at least once a week but cleaning it out daily is not harmful and could extend the life of your fibre marking machine.

Lens

The lens of the machine always needs to be clean. Any dust that has collected on the lens may disrupt the flow of the laser, making it lose strength and focus. The markings produced with a dusty lens may not be accurate. Carefully clean the lens with a special soft lens cleaning cloth.

Environment

The environment needs to be cleaned daily! Any dust particles in the workshop pose a risk to the fibre marking machine as they could be sucked through the air filter. It is important to dust off the machine and vacuum the surrounding area every day, before and after using the machine.

Faults

This is less a concern of daily maintenance, but more a concern of daily awareness. You always need to pay close attention to your machine. If you notice that your machine is not performing as it should or it is faulty, stop the machine immediately. Any faults could lead to the damage of the fibre marking machine, or even injury.
